2022 College of Education graduates to the Mobile County Public Schools’ Teacher Recruitment Fair.

When:       Wednesday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where:      Mobile Convention Center

At the Teacher Recruitment Fair, 91 principals will meet teacher candidates and conduct interviews, and  Human Resources Division will provide free pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.

Some new teacher hires who visit the Teacher Recruitment Fair will qualify for signing bonuses up to $5,000, and up to $3,000 to cover relocation costs!

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Intelligent Sustainable Technologies Division at GTRI is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to manage the technical component of the STEM@GTRI High school internship program this summer. This position will involve mentoring high school students as they complete robotics and computer vision projects in a five week internship. Candidates should have backgrounds in computer vision and robotic manipulator control and be able to teach and mentor high school students learning the fundamentals of these concepts.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Intern

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated working knowledge or robotics and perception fundamentals
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS) architecture
  • Ability to work in person at our lab on Georgia Tech Campus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Python and C++
  • Teaching or tutoring experience
  • Project experience with robotic manipulators and/or computer vision
  • Strong math skills
  • Familiarity with Linux and open source tools
  • Configuration management tools

Full JOB DESCRIPTION

GTRI’s Advanced Warfighting Technologies Division (AWTD) in the Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) seeks qualified candidates to provide technical oversight for our High School summer internship program. This position will be in AWTD’s Technical Integration Branch, which focuses on the rapid prototyping of concepts for ground maneuver forces. The position involves applying technical skills to develop and assess system prototypes. It also involves conducting sponsored research projects in close collaboration with computer scientists, electrical engineers, and other scientists and engineers. Qualified candidates will have experience with design tools, hardware/software integration, modeling and simulation tools, and rapid prototyping. AWTD engages in research related to counterproliferation technologies, special operations enablers, and advanced ground maneuver concepts. Furthermore, the division provides world-class, forward-looking thought leadership and turn-key, best-of-class warfighting technologies focused on countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) and changing the future of ground maneuver warfare for the U.S. Government and other sponsors.
